Portal Technology Update V6.5

Please be advised that this will deployed to 'live' for Ireland customers at 9am on Tuesday 28/04/2026 and to 'live' for the UK customer base at approx. 9am on Wednesday 29/04/2026

Security - Simplify Robots US 108933

The robots.txt configuration has been updated to be simpler and more restrictive.

Security – Improve Content Security Policy (CSP) US 108932

The content security policy has been updated to be more restrictive.

Security – Rate limiter

Added a rate limiter on the application details web service to restrict the same web service being called more than 20 times per minute by the same IP address.

Security – Azure Key Vault integration

Now the token used to authenticate Planning API against the rest of the APIs is stored in Azure Key Vault instead of the local settings of the API

Planning Citizen Portal – My Applications

(Ireland customers only)

Once a Compliance planning application was submitted through the Citizen Portal and accepted into APAS, the case would appear in the applicant’s My Applications area, allowing them to track its progress. It was later identified that if the application type was changed within APAS, the case would no longer display in the applicant’s My Applications list.

The system has now been updated so that applications remain visible in the user’s My Applications section, regardless of any subsequent changes to the application type within APAS.

AI Planning Validator - Enhanced Elevation Detection and Rule Configuration (Rear / Side / Front)

(AI Validator customers only)

We have introduced the ability to define more granular and stricter validation rules for elevation document types, specifically rear, side, and front elevations.

Previously, elevation validation could only be applied at broader category levels (Existing Elevations and Proposed Elevations). This limitation existed because our AI models were unable to reliably distinguish specific elevation types unless those exact terms appeared in the drawing labels.

Following recent improvements to our AI models, detection accuracy has significantly increased. The system can now identify specific elevation types, even when they are not explicitly stated in the drawing labels.

As part of this enhancement, new configuration options have been added to the rules setup area, allowing users to create validation rules for these more specific elevation document types.

N.B.

By default, existing validation rules continue to use the broader elevation categories (Existing Elevations and Proposed Elevations). Should you wish to apply stricter validation using the new, more specific elevation types (rear, side, front), we recommend removing the existing generic rules once you have created the new detailed rules.
