1.4.4 Release

As a reflection of the continuous improvement being made to the platform, we will cover the enhancements, amendments and bug fixes delivered in this release.

Enhancements

This release contains some great functionality to aid efficiency and optimisation of process.

Default Answers in Assessments

Often an assessment will be completed in the same way for the bulk of assessments. To ensure officers can therefore progress through assessments quicker, we have added the capability for assessment answers to be defaulted in a certain manner.

For example if a question will generally always be No, then it is possible to have the answers set like this as a matter of course. Saving time for staff yet ensuring standardised assessments.

Enhanced Integration to cater for the DfT's walking assessment changes

Following the DfT's changes to the online application the integration mechanisms have been enhanced to both ensure compliance with the API updates and also to automatically pre-populate this data into the case management app.

The following illustrates the new elements within the case management system's 'Walking' section:

Support for handling refunds in Workflow

We've now incorporated functionality so that:

  • where a badge has, as a part of the original application been paid for, but
  • importantly is not going to be issued

You are able to automatically refund the money through back through GOV.UK Pay.

We think this is a really nice function both in terms of efficiency of process to the council and also from a customer service perspective. This function is illustrated in the screenshot below:

Improved Pagination / Number of Results in search

The DfT has recently improved their API's capabilities to be able to cater for pagination of results. Or in more sensible language the ability to show lots of results and load more as and when required.

This is illustrated below:

NEW function - Ability to retrieve a list of expiring badges

As an added bonus in this release, we have provided an export function that can give you a real time export of badges that will expire for a date range. This is illustrated below:

Once the results are retrieved one simply needs to click on the download button to then get these in a format you can view in Microsoft Excel:

Amendments

The following amendment has been done in this release:

Better Validation

The validation on the length of time a badge can be awarded for has been set such that it will not exceed 3 years and thus remove the potential for integration failure.

Bug fixes

A tweak was made to improve performance and function of the related cases search function where no NINO is present.
