Password Policy function in eGovHub forms
Within the eGovHub System Management area, it is possible to set a password policy in the appropriately named 'Password Policy' area:
The Password Policy tab needs to be enabled via Azure by IEG4 first for it to be available for use in eGovHub Management.
When enabled the Password Policy tab is displayed like this: -
Enabling the ‘Password Policy’ tab is controlled by a Setting on the Management App in Azure. The name of the setting is: ‘PasswordPolicyEnabled’.
To enable this setting in Azure, take the following steps:
- Access Azure and select ‘App Services’ from the menu
2. App Services opens to show: -
3. Filter on the Customer Name e.g., Huntingdonshire, and select the required App Service (e.g., in this case Huntingdonshire-egovhub-westeu) which opens to show this page:
4. Click on Configuration (its location is as circled above) and the following is displayed: -
5. Look for the Application Setting with the name: PasswordPolicyEnabled.
6. If the ‘PasswordPolicyEnabled’ setting is not present, you will need to add it in using the ‘+New application setting’ button which is located here:
7. To Add in a new setting, click ‘+New application setting’ and the following fields are displayed:
8. Enter the ‘Name’ of the setting e.g.: PasswordPolicyEnabled, then enter the ‘Value’ e.g., ‘true’ (‘true’ means the tab will be enabled). NB: Ignore the ‘Deployment slot setting’ box – no need to set this. Then Click the Save button. This will have saved and now displays like this in Azure:
9. The Password Policy’ tab will now be displaying in eGovHub like this: -
10. NB: It is not necessary to publish / refresh anything in eGovHub Management for the tab to appear as on saving the record in Azure the App would have auto restarted itself.
