When should I clear the cache?

Internet browsers are optimised for speed and as a consequence have various processes to increase the speed at which pages are loaded. One of these is holding a cache of the state that a web page was previously loaded so as to be able to load it quicker the next time you go to the web site.

Unfortunately, this can mean changes do not look like they have taken effect after publishing. To remedy this there is a process of clearing this cache.

To clear the cache launch the form for which you expected to be updated i.e. the test HB New Claim. You will see the URL launched is:

https://jm-egovhub-hbnewclaim-test.azurewebsites.net/HBNewClaim/launch

To clear the cache for this specific form and environment you need to remove the page from the end of the URL i.e. 'launch' (or the page you are on) and change it to the page:

https://jm-egovhub-hbnewclaim-test.azurewebsites.net/HBNewClaim/clearcache

When you load this you will see a blank page with two buttons on it:

- Clear entire cache
- Clear user cache

Press the first button, then the second one and you're all done! To get back to your page press back in the browser 3 times and the cache has been cleared.
