Enhancements to the Media Screen Changes to Duty Holder labels in Building Control Released April 2025

Edit document metadata in Media Screen 

After saving your metadata edits, the system will now keep the current page and filters. This ensures a smoother workflow. 

Publication Rules 

We have been extending the document type view for the Maintenance of the Media Screen to include options for automatic Publication Rules to “unpublish” or “republish” (make public or not) for document types dependant upon the Stage of the application. This is available for Planning, Building Control, Enforcements and PreApps. 

In the maintenance view: 

clicking in the “pencil” icon displays: 

Ability to remove a group from Permission in Media Screen Document Type Management 

If all the permissions for one specific group are removed in the screen below, the next time that view is displayed the removed group will not be shown. 

Document Types dropdown only showing meaningful items 

Previously the dropdown in the screenshot below displayed all the document types configured in the back office: 

Now the view only shows those document types that exist for that specific application.  

Changes in labels for Duty Holders view (part of the Building Control Further info) 

To align the roles with the Duty Holder designations the labels and mapping has been slightly amended as follows: 

Agent -is mapped to a field called Designer 

Applicant - is mapped to a field called Client 

Builder - is mapped to a field called Contractor 

Structural Engineer - is mapped to a field called Contractor 

Media Screen – Document Status (Requires APAS B81.3) 

In the “edit metadata” view under the pencil icon we have include a new dropdown called “Document Status” 

The intention for this is to create merge fields in APAS later on, so it could be included information about a set of documents considering the status that has been marked by the officer.
