Release 1.7

As a part of continuing enhancements to improve function, prevent issues and mitigate user error, we have carried out a few changes to OpenProcess in this release v1.7. These are documented below.

Enhancements

The following are the functional and non-functional enhancements that have been done in this release:

1) Document Template Naming

Previously, whenever a document template was generated against an account it was given the name fixedname.pdf, which was not as user friendly as a properly named document when they saw it in OneVu. Now users are able to:

a) Set the default name for a given template as shown here:

NB - it cannot have spaces between the words hence the use of hyphens shown above.

b) Ad hoc change this at the point of template creation if required:

So the default value set above is now shown automatically but this can be added to or modified adhoc:

With this then saved accordingly so the user will see this name in OneVu etc.:

2) Increase in File Upload Size

As a part of this release it is now possible for an individual file attached adhoc to be 12Mb in size.

3) Warning if file is too large

To ensure there is no doubt about why a file could not be uploaded owing to being too big there is now a clear alert upon attempting to do so:

4) Better user creation validation

In the same manner as updates have been made in OneVu there is now logic such that rather than having a never ending spinning wheel if someone attempts to add a user that a) already exists as a user or b) already exists as a citizen they are told this cannot be done:

Amendments

The following updates have been made:

1) Removal of the assumption that built in groups can be edited

Prior to this release, a user might attempt to edit the permissions of one of the groups that comes pre-configured in OpenProcess.

However, these are read only and it should not have been possible to attempt to change these. Now these are read only and it tells the user at the foot of the permissions that this is the case:

2) Stopping issues with step completion

Sometimes users will attempt to carry out other activities thinking that a process has completed. This can cause multiple issues such as duplicate steps, steps being hidden/going missing. To prevent this now whilst a step is being completed OpenProcess will lock the screen when completing a step as a mechanism of preventing further updates from being attempted.

3) Key Information >500 characters

Prior to this release if a field from an eDesigner built form mapped to key information had greater than 500 characters it would fail to integrate.

This has been modified such that it will no longer fail but will only send the first 500 characters.

NB - a proper fix for this will be coming in eDesigner to allow for >500 characters to be sent.

4) Wee things

a) You no longer need the admin permission to see the list of different account extracts that can be searched

b) You no longer need the admin permission to see the list of processes in Supervise Tasks that a person has access to see

c) Show an error if a template has an error that prevents a document from a template being created

d) Reset the document editor after successfully saving a document created from a template. I.e. if you create one document template save it and then return to add another document it previously cached the old template content.

e) Show a message if a user attempts to access a step they do not have permission to see

f) Line breaks in the document template editor were not always functioning as expected and this has been resolved.
