How can you set up groups of users with different permissions?
OpenProcess allows agents to be added to work queues using "Groups". When a user is created, they are assigned to the relevant Groups which control their permissions and can be used for allocating work items.
When agents need to be added to work queues it is simply a case of assigning them to the relevant Group.
Groups are an effective way of being able to associate a set of permissions with a given user role. For example, if one creates a super user group one might give them lots of permissions and only users with this group associated with their user will have access to all of the permissions. If another user also needs to be a super user, it is just a case of assigning them to the super user group rather than having to pick and choose the permissions they should have.
Likewise, an officer may simply have permission to work on tasks but thats it. So, you could create a group of officers specific to customer services this can then easily be assigned to many users/agents.
Tasks are automatically assigned to users/agents based on the allocation rules that have been configured for the Step in a Process. The allocation rules allow a Step to be:
- Allocated to a specific user
- Allocated to an organisation
- Round robin allocated to users within a group
- Allocated to user from defined previous step
