How do I add back office values to FAQs?
One of the most powerful elements of OneVu is that you are in complete control over what data pulled back from the back office is shown inside OneVu.?
The best way to understand how this works is to think of the data coming from the back office as templated fields - like you would have in a mail merge or a back office letter production. I.e. in a letter where there is:
Dear {FirstName},
The templated field will ensure the value from the back office is always populated as the person's first name as it is currently held. So the above becomes:
Dear John,
If the person's name is John.
These template fields are accessible in the same place you access the function to add questions OneVu Manage > Data Silos. The section they're in is Data Items.?
These template fields are accessible in the same place you access the function to add questions OneVu Manage > Data Silos. The section they're in is Data Items.
Clearly this option is only available where integration to the back office exists
When you click Data Items it will expand to show the options available to be shown in OneVu. These are grouped to be as logical as possible but it is worth clicking and expanding each section to see the detail within. The following shows Data Items where a Benefits back office integration is in place:
We can see that the high level group revolves around next payment. Within the next payment amount section we can see a field called Amount. In order to copy the template field I simply need to click on the Copy button (which shows the copy icon).
So, if I want to have a question that is:
How much is my next benefit payment?
And be able to answer it I simply need to:
- a) Add the question
- b) Add an answer which is:
Your next payment will be £(press paste after copying the Amount template field)
This will look like:
Your next payment will be £${NextPayment.Amount}
That's it you've just added a question/answer that will pull data out of the back office application.
